Whats On October

Thursday 6th October

Avondale 45
1st time at The Hob for this band
avondale45’s roots can be easily identified in old school punk and more recent punk / new wave bands out there; however they have honed a certain uniqueness about their sound, lyrics and gigs.

There is the tradition of the Vandals and Stiff Little Fingers but somehow more eccentric and delightful than any of these. Check them out yes they will bring out some old nostalgia but you will be pleasantly surprised at what these guys have to offer.

The band blends Indie music with elements of 70′s punk, post-punk and Britpop. Although these influences are similar to those of many bands from the last decade, Nudybronque have created a fresh and vibrant sound they can proudly call their own, avoiding the pitfalls and generic tendencies of the majority of modern Indie bands.

Staines is a Ghost Town Really ?

Every town center is finding it hard to survive the recession especially as you can buy most things cheaper on the net these days so there’s very little need to go to a town center at all
But we do because we want to support our area and traders, we host events to draw people into staines & any bad press is not helpful & certainly isnt going to help the area when its slated in the national press by a well known band Front Man

A lot of people have been upset my Mr Archers comments as you may have seen in the local press & BBC news website
Various venues in staines have been host some amazing bands including Hard Fi Themselves a few years ago
Buckleup Promotions Pride ourselves in bringing you some of the best up and coming bands & feel that Local Artists need to be singing the praises of their local scene to encourage more bands & business to the area

I think the lesson here may be Think before you speak or Alienate the fans that stuck by you in the Beginning & the hard times & loose a lot of Album sales not great when your promoting your NEW ALBUM
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL AREA DON’T SLATE IT XX
